Overview

For this project, I created a motion graphic animation of the Walmart logo using After Effects. The purpose of this project was not branding or redesign, but to practice and improve my motion graphics skills, especially working with logo animation, timing, and smooth transitions.

Walmart was chosen because it is a well-known brand with a simple, recognizable logo, which made it ideal for focusing on motion rather than complex visuals.

Process

I started by preparing the Walmart logo assets and importing them into After Effects. I separated the elements into layers so they could be animated individually.

From there, I focused on animating the logo in a simple and controlled way. I used basic transformations such as position, scale, and opacity, along with easing, to create smooth and natural movement.

Throughout the process, I adjusted timing and spacing to make sure the animation felt balanced and visually clear. I avoided unnecessary effects so the focus stayed on clean motion and readability.

Reflection

This project helped me better understand how small motion details make a big difference in logo animation. I learned that clean timing and smooth easing are more important than complex effects, especially for professional motion graphics.

One challenge was keeping the animation simple while still making it engaging. This pushed me to be more intentional with every movement.

Overall, this project helped me improve my After Effects workflow, motion control, and confidence in creating logo animations. It also gave me a stronger foundation for future motion graphic and branding-related projects.
